About

Wendy Lessard, LMT, CMLDT

Hey there. Welcome to finding out more about what values and vision I bring to my practice. In high school, I identified as a student-athlete, and that commitment to working my brain and body still continues.

I became a Licensed Massage Therapist in 2006, after graduating from the Florida School of Massage in Gainesville, FL. I also have a B.S. from Colby College (Administrative Science), an M.Ed. and a C.A.S. from the University of Maine (Education).I’ve also been certified as a Personal Trainer and am a Level 3 Certified Essentrics instructor.

Yes - learning to transform my understanding and action is important!

I’ve served as the Secretary for the Maine Chapter of the American Massage Therapists Association (AMTA). I’m currently working with a state chapter member on the local response to sex and human trafficking in this region of Maine - which unbelievably is happening. I’ve also been trained as a Master Gardener Volunteer and landscape at Sawmill Woods Golf Course, while growing some of my own food.

Learning as a means of transformation has become a major theme and vision in my life and a vision I bring to my practice. I’ve completed hundreds of hours of massage continuing education, and am certified in Advanced Active Myofascial Mobilization, Neural Reset Therapy, and Manual Lymphatic Drainage. I also have advanced training in treating TMJ disorders. Currently, I’m immersed in studying Dolphin MPS for Advanced Scar Release Therapy and Lymphatic Restoration Therapy.

I love being part of a team effort and welcome opportunities to share information and suggestions from your providers, like chiropractors, physical therapists, doctors, etc.

I no longer run, or play hoops and softball like I did in high school (go Tigers!), but I do hike, walk, kayak, snowshoe, cross country ski, resistance train or do Essentrics as often as I can. Decades into living in this body, and a few injuries and surgeries behind me, I’ve learned to appreciate that “making informed space for change” and for the body to go through its own healing process is the best way to keep on going.

Sometimes we don’t understand the language the body uses to speak to us. My sessions work to translate those messages, give some support without forcing or overworking any one body system, and then giving you some understanding or tools to use after our session is over, to let that healing process unfold so that you can be resilient and return to your active life.

Thanks for your interest in the experience and values underpinning my massage practice.
